Laboratory of Green (nanomaterials) & Environmental Chemistry

LGEC is a testament to the vision of Dr. Shashi Prabha Dubey. This vibrant laboratory delves into the frontiers of green chemistry, crafting nanomaterials, and exploring solutions for emerging contaminants and water purification.

We foster a collaborative spirit where researchers synergize expertise in green chemistry, material fabrication, and environmental science. This environment fuels innovation, leading to advancements in green synthesis methods and novel nanomaterials.

Our dedication to clean technologies and environmental remediation promises a brighter future for the nation.

T.P.S. College was established in the 1960s by philanthropist Thakur Prasad Singh. The foundation was laid by Late Shri Krishna Singh, the first Chief Minister of Bihar. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Vocational studies.

Our Vision

“For a nation to become great, its students must unfold their wings in research and technology” — in the realm of the nation’s educational and scientific interests, and for a sustainable, cleaner, greener, and healthier environment for mankind.

Dr. Shashi Prabha Dubey

Assistant Professor · P.G. Department of Chemistry, T.P.S. College

A chemist bridging environmental research with deep international experience. Dr. Dubey earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Lucknow (2008) and has contributed to research projects across Europe and Asia.

Her early work focused on water purification as a CSIR-Junior Research Fellow at CSIR-IITR, investigating heavy-metal removal using adsorbents from natural materials. She later advanced research on graphene-based nanomaterials for purification applications.

Recognized with the DEF-Young Scientist Award (2010) and a Certificate of Merit from the American Chemical Society’s Environmental Chemistry Division (2014). In 2021, despite limited facilities, she established the fully functional Laboratory of Green (nanomaterials) & Environmental Chemistry (LGEC) at T.P.S. College, Patna.
